Esperienza fantastica! Abbiamo fatto il giro in barca in 12 ragazzi presso La Maddalena ed è stato tutto perfetto. Il team ci ha accolto in maniera professionale e simpatica allo stesso tempo. Cibo molto buono e barca super attrezzata. Consigliatissimo.

Very disappointing for €1,800/day P.S. (following the answer) I consider the answer below very rude. We are a very nice group, educated and with previous experience with sailing boats, yachts, catamarans and liveaboards, so we have a lot to compare it to (we also had good experience with your business in the past and recommended it to other friends too). We just wanted to have a nice day, to feel good and yes from time to time to have a glass or two. We chartered this sailing boat for a full day in the Maddalena Archipelago in early August, a private group of 12 friends, booked six months in advance. At this price and with that much notice, expectations were high. The day fell far short. On arrival we found three crew members on board: Rozi, her husband and their son. They are a family who actually live on the boat, which was never made clear beforehand. None of them spoke English, only Italian, so communication was difficult all day. We had been told card payment was possible. On the morning of the trip we were suddenly told the POS was not working and were asked to go to an ATM. Not what you expect from a booking made half a year earlier. Throughout the day we felt more like guests in someone's home than people who had exclusively chartered the boat. We had to announce when we wanted to use the toilet, drinks were not freely accessible, and glasses and half-full cans were removed the moment we set them down. It created a tense atmosphere, closer to a supervised school trip than a relaxed day among friends. The bigger issue was the itinerary and the near total lack of communication. There was no explanation of where we were going, how long we would sail, or how much time we would have in the water. At Piscine di Budelli we said clearly that we wanted to snorkel. The crew talked among themselves in Italian, then sat waiting in the dinghy for about 15 minutes without telling us we were meant to join them. We were eventually told the sailing boat was too large to enter the lagoon. After a short dinghy ride and another five minutes spent positioning it in roughly 50 cm of water, we got about 10 minutes of swimming before they started shouting for us to come back. This is supposed to be a highlight of the archipelago. Leaving Marina di Navarese, we were told lunch was five minutes away. It took about an hour, again with no explanation. Most disappointing of all: we estimate roughly 70% of the day was spent sailing from one point to another. We came for the turquoise water, the lagoons, swimming and snorkelling, and instead spent most of an expensive day in transit. The boat itself is nice, and this could have been a lovely day. But at this price level there should be minimum standards for communication, itinerary transparency, hospitality and payment arrangements. The agency should be far more careful about the boats and crews it offers. If you are booking mainly to swim and snorkel, ask in writing beforehand exactly how much time is spent at the swimming stops versus sailing, and confirm the itinerary, crew and included services.

Pay attention when booking through this agency: you may actually be booking someone’s private, lived-in boat, and in our experience everything was operated in full economy mode. We paid €1,800/day and received a pleasant sailing day, but definitely not a Maddalena Archipelago experience. There were 3 crew members on board – far too many for our private group of 12 – none of whom spoke English. Communication was extremely poor: no clear explanation of the itinerary, timing, stops or what to expect during the day. Most importantly, we missed many of the beautiful spots that make the Maddalena Archipelago special. Either we skipped them completely or remained 50+ metres away, while the crew seemed extremely reluctant to navigate anywhere close to other boats. We spent the vast majority of the day sailing rather than swimming, snorkeling and actually experiencing the famous turquoise waters. The owner was also so protective of the boat that nobody could use the bathroom without her checking it afterwards. Although there was another person presented as the skipper, the owner herself drove the boat almost the entire day, with the skipper taking over mainly when entering the harbour. Overall, it felt much more like being guests in someone’s private home than customers who had paid €1,800 to charter a boat for the day. If you still want to book, please be wiser than we were and clarify everything beforehand: total expected sailing time, exact stops, alternatives in case of adverse winds, approximate time at each swimming/snorkeling location, number of crew members on board and their respective roles. We had visited Maddalena before, so we had a very clear point of comparison. Unfortunately, a poor and uncommunicative crew can completely ruin what should otherwise be an incredible experience

Very disappointing experience – not what you expect for €1,800/day We rented this sailing boat at the beginning of August for a day in the Maddalena Archipelago. We were a group of 12 friends, so the boat was fully booked exclusively by us, and we had made the reservation approximately six months in advance. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing, especially considering the very high price of €1,800 per day and how far in advance everything had been arranged. Our first surprise upon arrival was to discover that there were three crew members on board – the owners, Rozi and her son, together with the agency skipper. They are a family and actually live on the boat, something that was not made clear to us beforehand. None of them spoke English, only Italian, which made communication throughout the day extremely difficult. We had also been told that payment by card was possible. However, on the morning of the trip, we were suddenly informed that the POS was not working, without any prior notice, and they proposed that we go together to an ATM to withdraw the money. Considering that the booking had been made six months in advance, this was not the kind of last-minute situation we expected. From the beginning, we felt much more like guests in someone's private home than paying customers who had exclusively chartered a boat for the day. We had to announce when we wanted to use the toilet, drinks were not freely accessible but had to be provided by the crew, and they seemed almost obsessed with ensuring that absolutely nothing was left around the boat. This went far beyond simply keeping the boat tidy. Glasses and beer cans were constantly removed the moment we put them down, even when they were still half full or we had only taken a sip. You literally could not leave your drink somewhere for a few moments without it disappearing. It created a surprisingly uncomfortable atmosphere, as if we constantly had to be careful about what we were doing rather than simply relaxing and enjoying the day. Overall, the atmosphere felt more like a school trip supervised by an extremely strict and discipline-obsessed teacher than a relaxing private boat experience among 12 friends. The biggest problem, however, was the extremely poor communication and the itinerary itself. For example, at Piscine di Budelli, we specifically said that we wanted to snorkel. The crew spoke among themselves in Italian and then waited in the dinghy for around 15 minutes without explaining to us that they were actually waiting for us to join them. Eventually, they explained that the sailing boat was too large to enter the lagoon. After approximately three minutes in the dinghy, they then spent another five minutes positioning it in water that was around 50 cm deep. We were finally allowed to swim and snorkel for approximately 10 minutes before they started shouting for us to return. This was supposed to be one of the highlights of visiting the Maddalena Archipelago. When we left Marina di Navarese, we were told that after around five minutes we would arrive at the place where we would have lunch. Those “five minutes” turned into approximately one hour of sailing, again without any explanation or communication. And this brings me to the most disappointing part of the entire experience: we estimate that around 70% of our day was spent simply sailing from one place to another. We came to experience the famous turquoise waters, lagoons, swimming and snorkeling spots of the Maddalena Archipelago, but instead we spent the vast majority of an expensive day sitting on a sailing boat in transit. It is a real pity because this could have been a beautiful experience, and the boat itself was nice. But at €1,800 per day, fully booked by a private group of 12 friends and reserved six months in advance, expectations are understandably high. We expected a professional charter experience focused on showing guests the beauty of the Maddalena Archipelago, not to feel like intruders in someone's home while spending most of the day sailing.
